Grounded - 2007
Developed in 2007 as a University study for recycled materials in contemporary living. The prototype’s core strength is formed by stack laminating corrugated cardboard, all weight is transferred straight to the ground through the corrugated flutes allowing the structure to hold weights of 150kgs plus. The design incorporates fabric and ply as an attempt to make the cardboard visually acceptable by associating it with materials we already relate to in seating.
