Clutch was designed in 2007 for a ‘vessel project’. The whole design evolved on paper and was presented within an hour - having only a couple of days to create the design I had to make sure its construction was simple.
My vessel incorporates two materials that work together to comfort and protect its products. Designed to house everyday objects the vessel became a container for an i-pod, phone, wallet and camera. Today most of these items have been lost, broken or replaced resulting with an obsolete design. Unlike my recent designs I left the metal in its raw state hoping it would display the wear and tear or everyday use, you can see it has now formed rust alluding to its uselessness in today’s society much like the obsolete/ upgraded objects that where once housed within.
